Joining the Practice

The long-established Market Place Dental practice in the heart of a classic Cotswold market town setting prides itself on providing high quality, caring dentistry in a clean, comfortable and modern environment.

If you want to join our practice. We can offer you a “familiarisation tour” where you can visit the practice and see our facilities, and discuss with us how we could help you.

Most of our patients join us through the recommendation of our existing happy and satisfied patients. They are kind enough to tell family , friends and colleagues about the excellent standard of care they have received.

Your First Visit

When you book your first appointment you will be sent a Welcome Pack. This contains information about the practice and includes a medical history questionnaire which we ask you to complete and bring with you to your first appointment. This is to ensure that your care is tailored to take account of any medical conditions you may have.

We ask for a deposit for the new patient appointment booking and this will be discounted against the cost of the first appointment that you attend.

An important part of your first appointment will be to take the opportunity to talk to you about your dental health concerns, and for us to provide you with the information you need in order to begin evaluating your treatment choices, and deciding on your preferred options. These will be based on your concerns, needs, values and priorities.

Regardless of the services you seek, each new patient will have a full clinical examination to evaluate the status of their dental health. We will then discuss a range of treatment options, including cost.

Things you could bring to your first appointment:

  • The completed medical history questionnaire.
  • Information about any complex dental treatment previously received.
  • Any x-rays you may previously have had. (this may reduce the number of subsequent x-rays required.)

It is important to note that more complex cases will require more extensive record taking to allow greater deliberation and evaluation of alternatives prior to deciding on a treatment plan.

Occasionally treatment plans develop over time. As priorities and opportunities change, careful and flexible planning allows long term care to be built on firm foundations.

 Treatment Plans

Having made an informed choice about your treatment plan, you will be given an estimate of the cost. You will normally pay for treatment as each item is completed.

A deposit may be required for more complex items involving several stages and laboratory work.

Who will provide my treatment?

Market Place Dental Practice Cirencester is owned and run by dentists for the benefit of patients. The dental surgeons who run the practice provide the care to the patients. They are highly experienced in providing a wide range of dental care, including treatment for dental decay, gum problems, dentures, crown / bridgework, dental implants and more cosmetic procedures such as orthodontics, tooth whitening and veneers.

Dentists provide a degree of gum / periodontal treatment but we often refer our patients for care with our in-house dental hygienists. We work together as a team with the dentists reviewing treatment and outcomes, and monitoring and directing care provision.

We are dedicated to ensure out patients receive outstanding customer service.

How long will my treatment take?

Having decided on a course of dental treatment, the dentist will be able to advise you how long the treatment is likely to take and a clear idea of costing. Should the treatment plan change your dentist will be able to advise you on the clinical and cost implications.

At the end of the treatment plan your dentist will discuss with you a suitable review / examination period. For most patients this will be six months.

What will my treatment cost?

Written estimates are given for all treatment plans, and if at any stage you are unsure about costing, please ask our reception staff or your dentist for an update. An outline price list is held at our reception and you are free to ask for a copy.

We ask for 24 hours notice fort the cancellation of booked appointments. For late cancelled or missed appointments there will be a charge.
